After two years, the World Ijtema is being held in Tongi.
The Tabligh Jamaat authorities in 2011 split the Ijtema into two phases, dividing the participation of the 64 districts, to reduce the pressure on the venue and to ensure better management and security.
But, due to a quarrel between followers of two factions of World Tabligh Jamaat in December 2018, the Ijtema has been held in two phases on the basis of the following of the faction leaders in Bangladesh.
Whole Muslim Worlds Tablighi followers still following “Tabligh Headquarters Nizamuddin Markaz @ Banglewali Masjid”. Only in Bangladesh it’s little different.
Today the home ministry decide on holding the Ijtema. The first phase of the Biswa Ijtema, 2023 scheduled for January 13-15, 2023 and the second phase scheduled for January 20-22, 2023.
The mainstream followers will be attending on the Second phase from around the Globe, which will be held from January 20-22, 2023 InshaAllah.
The Bishwa Ijtema, one of the biggest congregations of Muslim pilgrims which usually takes place in January, has been postponed last 2021 & 2022 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Tabligh Jamaat has been organising the Ijtema at the venue since 1967.
