Ethiopian Masjid with Tree branches and sticks, No Marble Walls

The Prophet’s Mosque, or Masjid al-Nabawi, is the second-holiest site in Islam. This mosque has a 1400-year-long history. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) built this mosque in 622 CE migrating from Mecca to Medina. Which first time had been built with mud-brick walls; the ceilings made of date fiber, its columns made of date trees and its floor of earth and sand.

After 1400 years later in the Asaita area of Danakil, Ethiopia, local Muslim community built a beautiful Masjid with Tree branches and sticks, where there’s no Marble Walls.

Despite facing economic challenges, the local residents came together to create a place of worship that reflects their deep religious devotion.

The Mosque hasn’t got a large capacity and most of the visitors to this Mosque are nomads who pass by with their camels. Tabligh News 24 Special Report.

The minaret too, has been built with tree branches and sticks with large stones around its base to support it.

Its beauty lies in its simplicity – it’s made entirely out of wood.
