Tablighi World Ameer has made historic decisions that have contributed to the movement’s growth and impact in American Tabligh.
Tablighi Jamaat, as a global Islamic missionary movement, has a hierarchical structure centered around the position of the Ameer.
Key elements of the structure:
Ameer: This is the highest leadership position, appointed for life by a central consultative council (shura) and senior elders of the movement. Historically, the Ameer position has been held by individuals with a lineage connected to the movement’s founder, Muhammad Ilyas Kandhalawi (RAH). The current Ameer is Muhammad Saad Kandhlawi (DB), leading the Mainstream Tabligh movement from the headquarters Nizamuddin Markaz, Delhi, India 🇮🇳.
Shura (Council): In Tabligh Jammat the Shura, or consultative council, plays a crucial role in supporting and assisting the Ameer (leader). While the Ameer is appointed for life, the Shura provides a framework for collective decision-making, ensuring that the work of Tabligh is carried out effectively and responsibly.
Markaz: Local Central Masjid serve as bases for the traveling jamaats during their missions. A Markaz is a masjid where the Tablighi Jamaat’s Weekly “Shab-e-Jumma” or “Markaz night” or “Sobguzari Night” program is held. This program can be a Thursday night, Friday night or Saturday night depending on the convenience of the public. Tablighi Jamaat Markaz’s exists all over the world, including America 41 Halaqas.
Sobguzari: Sobguzari in Tablighi Jamaat refers to weekly night gatherings where the focus is on Da’wah (invitation to Islam) and fostering spiritual development. Members gather at a designated location, typically a mosque, bringing their food and sleeping bags, preparing to spend the night.
Halaqa: In the context of Tablighi Jamaat, both Halaqa refer to local or regional areas. Example: American 50 States consist of 41 Halaqas.
Zone or Region: Zone typically indicates a larger geographical area or region where various Tablighi activities, including Halaqas and Ijtemas (larger gatherings), are organized and coordinated. Example: American 50 States consist of 6 (Six) Regions.
Here’s a breakdown of the typical chain of command in American Tabligh:
Last Weekend (June 27-29, 2025) Mainstream Tabligh Jammat Successfully Concluded Historic American Largest Gathering (Islamic Peace Conference @ World Ijtema America 2025). Moreover 40,000+ including 2,000+ foreign guests from 55+ countries were present. This is the first time in history Tablighi Jammat, USA got the National Ameer including 6 National Shura Team.

At the same time this is the first time American 6 Region got their Regional Shura. (Region 1 # 12, Region 2 # 10, Region 3 # 19, Region 4 # 8, Region 5 # 15, Region 6 # 10)
70% of the American Tablighi Jamaat is Bangladeshi, 10% is Burmese, and the remaining 20% is Urdu, Arabic, and other languages.
However, none of the 6 members of the National Shura are Bangladeshi. That is why there is a lot of anger among Bangladeshis.
In Khuruj, 90 percent of the Jamaat is seen as being made up of Bangladeshis and Burmese communities. However, the Burmese have not been included even in a Regional Shura in Region # 1. Burmese brother got only one Shura in Region # 3. There is anger among the Burmese community about this.
There has been widespread discrimination of the 6 Region Sura Team. The Chicago Region received 19 Shura. The proportional rates of the other Regions clearly demonstrate that discrimination has occurred.
Preference has been given to people who participated in the Tablighi Fitna in 2016, those were with Dr. Awal, they are rewarded for the Regional Shura Team. Those who were opposed direct to Dr. Awal, no one has been elected as a Regional Shura.
Conclusion:Neither the World Ameer Hazratji db nor his 3 Sons are aware of the 2016 American Fitna and its aftermath, so that whatever was presented in front of them, it was finalized by Hazratji. Most workers are blaming that some responsible Nizamuddin & American Elders were misguided to our beloved World Ameer.
